About Southern Gulf Islands Public Library Commission

The Southern Gulf Islands Public Library Commission consists of the Capital Regional District Electoral Area Director for the Southern Gulf Islands and two representatives from each of Pender Island Public Library Association, Mayne Reading Centre Society, Galiano Library Society, Piers Island Association, Saturna Community Club.

Pender Island Public Library Association (the "Association") co-ordinates distribution of the annual provincial funding and the annual CRD funding among the Southern Gulf Islands Community Libraries (the "Libraries"). All programs and services provided in relation to the Southern Gulf Islands Electoral Area by the Public Library Services Branch are delivered through the Association. The Association is not considered to be in a supervisory role with respect to the other Libraries.

The Commission meets twice each year in April and September.
